Putting policy into practice, worldwide.

Our International Work

We help governments and sport organizations turn high-level policy into real-world results.

We work in more than 65 countries, and our international work focuses on lasting, systemic change, not one-off programs. Our organization is there to help National Olympic Committees, national sport organizations, governments, and non-governmental organizations build the workforce and strategic plans they need for lifelong physical literacy and sustainable high-performance results.

Our Global Capability

Six areas of expertise, built to make sport more inclusive, age-appropriate, and sustainable.

Our mission internationally is the same as it is at home: make sport more inclusive, age-appropriate, and sustainable for everyone. Here's where we focus.

Long-Term Development and Quality Sport

We build clear pathways that guide athletes from their first experience in sport to high performance, using training suited to their age and stage of development.

Physical Literacy

We help people of every age build the skills, confidence, and motivation to be active for life. Building and sharing evidence-based resources so more people, and more organizations, can put physical literacy into practice.

Custom System Design

We design national and regional sport systems built around your culture, climate, and resources, using the inclusive "rectangle" approach instead of the traditional, exclusionary "pyramid."

Connecting Sectors

We bring sport, health, and education together, so governments can use sport to improve public health and reach broader social goals.

Lesson Plans and Activities (PLAYBuilder)

Our digital platform gives coaches and teachers instant access to high-quality, standardized lesson plans and training resources.

Education and Learning Campus

We offer a digital campus with virtual, on-demand certifications and courses for learners across physical literacy, quality sports, and school leaders.

Our Approach

No two countries need the same solution, so we don't offer one.

One size doesn't fit all, especially when it comes to sports on the global stage. We build our international work around two things: system readiness, meaning the stage a country is at and where its real needs are, and contextual intelligence, meaning the culture, language, and resources on the ground.

  • Language Adaptation We adapt and localize our resources so frameworks make sense to local practitioners, as we did in Bahrain, India, and Sweden.
  • Climate and Resource Consideration We adjust our pathway models for different environments, from the island-specific constraints of the Caribbean to the high-density urban populations of India and Egypt.
  • Training Local Leaders We use a train-the-trainer model, giving local coaches and teachers the tools to lead large-scale change, so the system keeps running without relying on outside consultants.

Education & Training

We meet learners where they are, giving them the knowledge and tools they need to build quality sport and physical literacy in their own context. That includes eLearning courses, 'in-person services and training, workshops, digital delivery tools like PLAYBuilder, certification pathways, major conferences, custom training, and an online campus.

Coaches, educators, administrators, and community leaders use these tools to build skills, deliver more consistent programming, and align around shared best practices.

Some of our international projects:

Customized Online Learning for Pan Am Sports

Funded by Pan Am Sports to build Long-Term Development (LTD) capacity across member nations, this six-month series of online webinars combined expert-led sessions, homework, and exams, ending with certificates of achievement for more than 20 participating nations, including several in Europe.

Conferences in the Kingdom of Bahrain

We delivered LTD and physical literacy education at a national conference in Bahrain in 2018, then staged the inaugural International Physical Literacy Conference Middle East and North Africa (IPLC MENA) in 2025, in partnership with the Bahrain Olympic Committee. Both were planned and delivered in person by our team, reaching participants from sport, government, and the private sector.

PLAYBuilder in the USA

New York Road Runners built PLAYBuilder directly into its learning management system, using it to deliver consistent programming to 700,000 members across schools and community programs. i9 Sports, the largest multisport provider in the US, uses PLAYBuilder to deliver programming to more than 5 million registrants.

Our Learning Campus

The International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program, offered to National Olympic Committees worldwide, purchases our online courses, including An Introduction to Long-Term Development in Sport and Physical Activity, every year for its coaches. Many National Olympic Committees also purchase thousands of courses directly, for coaches ranging from entry-level youth programs to high performance.

Built for where you are, not a template

National Sport

Helping nations and national organizations develop by stage not just age

Working with National Sport Organizations, we help align grassroots participation with elite performance, developing athletes based on biological maturity and skill, not just chronological age.

For National Governments and National Olympic Committees

By working with public sector, National Sport Organizations, and National Sport Organization Leaders we help align grassroots participation with elite performance, developing athletes based on biological maturity and skill, not just chronological age.

National Long-Term Development Framework Support

Policy and strategy support for developing, updating, and embedding Long-Term Participant Development, Long-Term Athlete Development, and Long-Term Development frameworks, then activating them through quality sport programs from local clubs to national teams.

Advancing Physical Literacy

Guidance and hands-on support for promoting physical literacy across every age group and ability level, so it becomes part of how programs are designed from the start.

Coach Education Integration

Support for weaving Long-Term Development into coach education programs, including Canada's National Coach Certification Program (NCCP), so every certified coach graduates with it built in.

Quality Sport System Oversight

System-level reviews, resource development, and progress tracking, giving national systems what they need to stay sustainable over the long term.

For National Sport Governing Bodies

Long-Term Development Framework Services

Development, review, and updates for sport-specific frameworks, embedded into governance, strategy, and programming from club to national team.

Athlete Development Matrix (ADM) Support

Building and refining an Athlete Development Matrix for each sport, detailing performance capabilities and integrating them with coach education and high-performance training and competition profiles.

Competition Review and Restructuring

Reviews of competition structures, advice on making them more developmentally appropriate, and guidance for long-term officials' training and development.

Inclusivity and Belonging Initiatives

Tailored pathways for athletes with disabilities, migrants, and other equity-deserving groups, plus knowledge products focused on equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in sport.

Schools & Communities

Helping schools, recreation, and health agencies speak the same language.

We help schools, sport and recreation departments, and health agencies align their programs with how children and adults actually develop. The goal is simple: give people of every age the skills and confidence to build physical literacy, so they have the chance to pursue athletic excellence and stay active for life.

Some of our international projects:

Customized Online Learning for Pan Am Sports

We delivered an in-person and online training and activation program for early childhood educators and young children in the British Virgin Islands, building educators' knowledge and skills in developing physical literacy.

Physical Literacy for Youth Across the Caribbean

As part of our work with CANOC, we delivered in-person physical literacy workshops and strategic planning sessions for educators in the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Haiti, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago, building their knowledge of physical literacy and informing their practice.

K-12 School in Egypt

We designed a K-12 multi-sport academy near Cairo, Egypt, developing movement curricula from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 based on the latest physical literacy and sport science. The project also included an operational and staffing framework, facility and playground design based on physical literacy principles, and programs for nine high-performance sports built on Long-Term Athlete Development.

International Engagement & Advocacy

Speaking, teaching, and serving on the boards that shape global sport policy.

Our international advocacy work expands the reach and impact of everything else we do.
We've spoken at international events including USOC Best Practices in the Americas, the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Bermuda government and sport sector, the TAFISA World Congress, and Kenniscentrum Sport & Bewegen in the Netherlands.

We sit on international boards and committees, including TAFISA (The Association For International Sport for All), the International Sport for Life Organisation, and working groups focused on Sport for All, physical literacy, and long-term development. We're also a founding organization of the International Physical Literacy Association.

We guest lecture at invited university sessions, including Sorbonne, France and at Gedik University in Istanbul.
These relationships often lead to new collaborations and opportunities that help sustain and grow this part of our work.
