Built for every level of the game
Quality Sport Division
We build the frameworks that make good programs possible.
What We Do
The Quality Sport Division doesn't run programs directly. Instead, we build the systems, frameworks, tools, and support that sport organizations use to create quality experiences across the full participant pathway.
Our work is meant to shape a sport system that’s inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and meets each participant at every stage of their sport journey. We also help organizations strengthen their own environments, culture, programs, and pathways. The overall result is better sport experiences across the system, grounded in evidence and long-term development.

Our Core Focus
We build the systems that let sport organizations deliver programs that are inclusive, participant-centred, and developmentally appropriate. That work is guided by one belief: sport should develop high-performing humans, not just high-performing athletes, and quality experiences should be available to everyone, regardless of age, ability, background, or goals.
Our frameworks connect organizations across every level of the system, from a toddler learning to play, to a senior enjoying a recreational league, to an athlete chasing an Olympic or Paralympic podium. A dedicated team of Long-Term Development advisors keeps that work current with the latest sport science.

Key Services and Past Projects
System Alignment
National Sport System Alignment
Updated the Athlete Development Matrix and aligned language with partners like the Coaching Association of Canada and Own the Podium, building a more unified, evidence-informed approach to athlete development across the Canadian sport system.
Ringette Alberta: Every Kid Can Play
Together with Ringette Alberta, we built a flexible way to track participation, retention, competitive equity, and governance, so the province can show funders and families what's working.
National Sport Projects
Biathlon Canada
Biathlon Canada's athlete development plan is now a practical, inclusive guide that coaches, clubs, and athletes actually use, the result of a project we led together.
Baseball Canada: Guides for Parents
Parents now have stage-specific guides that show what to expect at each step of their child's development in baseball, built in partnership with Baseball Canada.
Competition Review and Restructuring
Field Hockey Canada, Ontario Volleyball, and the Arctic Winter Games have all worked with us to build competition systems that better reflect long-term development principles and the latest sport science, improving outcomes for participants at every level.
Strategic Initiatives
Equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) sit at the centre of how we work. We aim to create equitable opportunities for quality sport and physical literacy, and to break down the barriers that stand in the way.
We work in partnership with the Aboriginal Sport Circle and the Inclusion in Canadian Sport Network (ICSN) to bring different viewpoints and experiences into our projects, products, and services.

Engaging Indigenous Participants
Indigenous Long-Term Participant Development Pathway (ILTPD)
A roadmap for developing sport and physical activity among Indigenous peoples, built for practitioners working with Indigenous participants in sport and recreation.
Engaging Indigenous Communities Through Electronic Biathlon
A guide and checklist for starting an electronic biathlon program with an Indigenous community, built around equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Partner With the Quality Sport Division
Every project on this page started with one organization asking a specific question: how do we make this better for the people we're trying to serve? Whatever your role in the system, from a national sport organization refining its high-performance pathway to a grassroots club looking for a better model, that's the same conversation we're ready to have.
